The History
Along the road that leads from Peschiera to Valeggio, less than one kilometer from the Peschiera highway exit, stands the monumental complex called “Il Paradiso." In the following map, created in 1780, one can see the villa with the adjacent rural courtyard, described at the letter "B" as "other small courtyard with surrounding houses." The small courtyard housed the employees who were more closely tied to the taking care of the property part. One can see clearly, both in the architecture and in the openings towards the outside, that the entire complex was composed of a series of residential, not productive, buildings. The country house dates back at least to 1600, but the current configuration was defined by an important project in 1734, when it became property of the Albertini family. This project was one of the very first examples of an architecture that found immense success in the Veronese territory during the years that followed. Considering the year of construction, the majesty, the typological system and, above all, the architecture of the complex, one can undoubtedly consider this an absolutely unique case in the panorama of the times.
