Associazione “La cura sono io”
“Planning for beauty, despite everything” is the aim of “La Cura Sono Io”, a non-profit association that is currently raising funds to create an app containing a number of services to promote well-being and care for cancer patients. Our collection “Cappelli ad Arte” (with a pure cotton inner lining) was created for women, in particular for those suffering from alopecia. Berets, turbans, little hats, practical, artistic and whimsical head covers that love smiles, sparkling ideas and positive thoughts. As well as face masks, bags, keyrings, fans and calendars dedicated to Frida and to the Muses that inspire us, all born from artist Valentina D'Andrea’s radiant creativity. Amidst these positive creations is the book “La Cura Sono Io. Per vivere ho bisogno di me” (published by Minerva), written by Maria Teresa Ferrari and illustrated by Valentina D’Andrea.

I have always been attracted to textiles, by their colours and textures. At home I have wardrobes full of Indian silks, refined upholstery fabrics and velvets which I use to refurbish chairs and sofas. When I discovered Uzbek Ikat I fell in love with it and immediately started creating pairings of velvet and silk. That’s how “I cuscini di Carla” was born after which I began experimenting with shoes, bags and lampshades.
